Founding of the Forest Academy

The Forest Academy was founded in December 2016. At that time, it was still called "Waldakademie Hümmel" because its office was located in a 30-square-meter office in the neighboring community of Hümmel.

Moving to Wershofen

In 2017, the Forest Academy was officially opened and the Primeval Forest Project was launched on this occasion.

The Forest Academy is moving to the municipality of Wershofen.

Change in society

In August, Tobias Wohlleben takes over the management of the Waldakademie and simultaneously becomes the new owner.

In the same year we offered forest guide training for the first time.

Additional Managing Director

In 2019, Johanna joined the company as the second managing director. She professionalized the company's structures

Moving & online courses

In 2020, we built and opened our office building on Nordstraße in Wershofen. More space for a growing team. That same year, the lockdown hit us, and we launched our online course platform Wald-Lernen.de.

Café and new seminar rooms

At the beginning of 2024, we will finally be able to open our Blattwerk building. More space for our events. During construction, we adhered to high ecological standards and were able to significantly improve the quality of the learning environment.
At the same time, our vegan forest café Blattwerk opened its doors for the first time.

Impressions from our premises

The House Blattwerk

The Blattwerk House is the heart of the Waldakademie. Most smaller events take place here. In addition to seminar rooms, a lounge, podcast studio, and offices, it also houses the Blattwerk Forest Café.

The seminar house

The seminar house is the venue for larger events. Our daytime experiences, for example, take place here. The lovingly designed, light-filled space offers a wonderful ambiance for exciting events.

Seminar rooms in Blattwerk

The seminar rooms at Haus Blattwerk are bright, modern, and full of natural colors and materials. Thanks to a large photovoltaic system, we can maintain environmentally friendly, pleasant air conditioning even in summer.
