Mighty beeches and oaks proudly raise their lush green crowns toward the sky. But also smaller areas where fallen giants have become the livelihood of thousands upon thousands of creatures. For the most part, the forest here has been allowed to develop undisturbed for at least fifty years, and in some areas, probably for over a hundred. The result is a true natural treasure that already gives a glimpse of our former primeval forests and is unparalleled. A small stream flows in the shade of the majestic trees, its babbling accompanies visitors even in summer.
