Awarded by the UN

The United Nations has recognized the jungle project as a TOP project for nature restoration.

Mighty beeches and oaks proudly raise their lush green crowns toward the sky. There are also smaller areas where fallen giants have become the livelihood of thousands upon thousands of creatures. For the most part, the forest here has been allowed to develop undisturbed for at least fifty years, and in some areas probably for over a hundred. The result is a true natural treasure that already gives a glimpse of our former primeval forests and is unparalleled. The forest here on the Kammerberg lies on a slope and is home to beeches and oaks, the likes of which are rarely found in Germany. Here you will find trees with a trunk diameter of over 1.4 meters.
For comparison: In managed forests, the thick trees have a trunk diameter of 0.6 meters.

Help us now to protect this natural jewel for the next 50 years.
